Machaeropterus striolatus là một loài chim nhỏ thuộc bộ sẻ ở Nam Mỹ trong họ Pipridae.[2] Chúng được tìm thấy tại Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, và Venezuela.[3]
Phân loại và hệ thống học
Machaeropterus striolatus được mô tả ban đầu bởi nhà tự nhiên học người Pháp Charles Lucien Bonaparte vào năm 1833 với danh pháp hai phần là Pipra striolata.[4] Loài này hiện tại được xếp vào chi Machaeropterus được giới thiệu bởi Bonaparte vào năm 1854.[5]
Machaeropterus striolatus có năm phân loài:[2]

- M. s. striolatus (Bonaparte, 1838)
- M. s. obscurostriatus Phelps & Gilliard, 1941
- M. s. zulianus Phelps & Phelps Jr, 1952
- M. s. aureopectus Phelps & Gilliard, 1941
Loài Machaeropterus eckelberryi có hình thái tương tự từ phía bắc Peru được mô tả vào năm 2017. Chúng khác Machaeropterus striolatus ở tiếng hót.[6]
