Machaeropterus là một chi chim thuộc bộ sẻ, họ Pipridae. Chúng được tìm thấy trong các rừng cây nhiệt đới ở Nam Mỹ.

Phân loại

Chi Machaeropterus được giới thiệu bởi nhà tự nhiên học người Pháp Charles Lucien Bonaparte vào 1854.^[2] Loài điển hình sau đó được đặt là Machaeropterus regulus.^[3] Cái tên Machaeropterus kết hợp các từ tiếng Hy Lạp cổ đại μαχαιρα makhaira "con dao" hay "dao găm" và -πτερος -pteros "-có cánh".^[4]
