Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.

• This redirect category (rcat) template populates the following categories by default:
  • When the redirect is in mainspace, Thể loại:Trang đổi hướng có lịch sử trang cũ and Thể loại:Trang đổi hướng không cần in
  • In any other namespace, Thể loại:Trang đổi hướng từ trang con

In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from subpages are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy. In early versions of Wikipedia, subpages in mainspace were used to hold subtopics of their main articles. At present, subpages are no longer used for that purpose. These redirects are kept to maintain edit history and to avoid breaking links that have been made to the redirect, both internally and externally.

• Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]{{Rcat shell|{{R from subpage}}}}

and when the redirect is in article mainspace, printworthiness should also be tagged:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]{{Rcat shell|{{R from subpage}}{{R unprintworthy}}}}

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]{{R from subpage}}

This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.

• Use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespace from a title that includes a solidus (/); for example, from a subpage of Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket:
  • Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/ArticlesTemplate:CricketRecentChanges
  • From mainspace, Algeria/MilitaryAlgerian People's National Armed Forces
