My work spans multiple roles across Wikimedia projects. Early on, discovering the breadth of Wikipedia’s languages led me to devote significant time to the Marathi Wikipedia, where I have authored articles, developed templates, and implemented modules that streamline content creation and management. My steady involvement and understanding of community needs earned me administrative rights, allowing me to safeguard the project’s quality and stability through regular maintenance tasks, content cleanup, and protection of valuable articles.
Beyond the Marathi Wikipedia, I have actively participated in global initiatives that celebrate diverse cultures and traditions. Since 2016, I have played a central role in coordinating international campaigns like Wikipedia Asian Month, fostering cross-cultural exchange and global volunteer collaboration. In 2019, I joined efforts to launch and nurture Wiki Loves Love, which later evolved into Wiki Loves Folklore (WLF) and carried Feminism and Folklore together. These photo and writing competitions aim to document intangible cultural heritage, folklore, and gender-related themes, thereby enriching Wikimedia’s repositories with valuable content that spans continents and communities.
Serving as a lead coordinator for Wiki Loves Folklore after being part of it since its inception, I have helped guide the campaign’s growth, communications, and on-wiki involvement. Under my leadership, Wiki Loves Folklore has attracted thousands of photographers and editors, resulting in a rich collection of images and articles that preserve cultural knowledge. Likewise, Feminism and Folklore, an international writing contest born out of similar principles, focuses on documenting and celebrating women’s roles in folk traditions around the world. Over the years, these initiatives have collectively yielded thousands of new and improved articles, engaging hundreds of volunteers across numerous language communities.
My contributions also extend to Wikimedia Commons, where I have been involved in image categorization, license review, and policy support. I had a VRT membership to assist in copyright-related queries and continue to champion open knowledge by handling translation administration and upload wizard configuration tasks.
In all these activities—be it as an Admin on the Marathi Wikipedia, a curator on Commons, or a coordinator of international cultural campaigns—I am driven by a singular goal: to broaden free access to knowledge, ensure its reliability, and celebrate the world’s intangible cultural legacy. Through fostering community participation, providing mentorship, and encouraging diverse voices, I hope that my work serves as a stepping stone toward a more inclusive, representative, and enduring knowledge ecosystem.
