Rắn mắt hồng ngọc (danh pháp: Cryptelytrops rubeus) là một loài rắn ở Đông Nam Á.[2] Cryptelytrops rubeus gần đây đã được phát hiện khu vực xung quanh Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, ở các đồi thấp phía nam Việt Nam, ở cao nguyên Lang Biang và đông Campuchia bởi các nhà nghiên cứu tại Đại học Bangor.[3][4] Rắn Cryptelytrops rubeus thường xuất hiện gần các con suối và món ăn ưa thích của chúng là ếch.

Despite its striking appearance - blood-red eyes with emerald coils - rubeus was not previously categorised as a distinct species because of the similarities to its yellow-eyed cousin, the large-eyed green pit viper [Cryptelytrops macrops]. Now, with the help of a genetic study, Anita Malhotra of Bangor University, UK and colleagues have identified rubeus as a unique species.
